PROBLEMATIKA PEMULIHAN SPEECH DELAY MELALUI POLA ASUH EFEKTIF DI PONDOK KANAK-KANAK DARUSSALAM

This study was conducted due to a speech delay problem experienced
by a nine-year-old child at Pondok Kanak-Kanak Darussalam. This issue
affected the child's ability to communicate, caused difficulties in
socializing, and led to low self-confidence. Children with speech delay
generally understand language but struggle to express themselves verbally.
To clarify the focus of this study, the research questions were formulated to
explore the obstacles in the speech delay process experienced by the child
at Pondok Kanak-Kanak Darussalam, as well as the solutions used to
overcome the issue in that environment. In line with these research
questions, this study aims to describe the obstacles in the speech delay
process and to describe how the solutions were implemented to overcome
the issue.
The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive case
study design. The focus was placed on one subject with specific conditions
to gain an in-depth understanding within a real-world context. Data
collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and
documentation. The data were analyzed interactively through stages of
data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, in order to
comprehensively portray field conditions. The validity of the data was
ensured using triangulation techniques, including source triangulation,
technique triangulation, and time triangulation to verify the accuracy and
reliability of the information collected.
The results of the study revealed that the obstacles in speech delay
recovery included difficulties in verbal expression, low responsiveness to
oral instructions, a tendency to withdraw, passivity in social interaction,
and a limited number of caregivers. The solutions applied involved
intensive assistance and a parenting approach that supports the gradual
development of the child's communication skills.
